Split an image across printed sheets
Cut a poster into pages you can print and tape together. Overlap keeps a strip of the neighboring sheet on each shared edge. The PDF puts one tile on each page, draws crop marks, and adds one line naming the row and column.
How to print the image across sheets

Use the full-resolution file. The split does not rescale it. A larger source prints sharper.
Set the sheets and the overlap
Rows and columns are the pages down and across. Overlap is how many pixels of the next sheet stay on each shared edge, so you can trim to the crop marks and still align the join.

Each page is one tile. The line under the crop marks reads like “Sheet 1 of 4 - row 1, column 1”. Print at actual size, not fit-to-page. A zip of the same tiles is there if you need the images themselves.
Questions
- How do I split an image for printing on several sheets?
- Choose how many sheets across and down, set an overlap, and download the PDF. Tape the pages using the overlap, after cutting on the crop marks.
- What is the overlap for?
- Printers cannot print to the edge, and a hard cut is hard to align. The overlap repeats pixels from the next tile so each sheet includes a margin you can trim or lap over its neighbor.
- Does each PDF page match one tile?
- Yes. A 2×2 grid is four pages. The assembly line on the page is the map: sheet number, row, and column.
- Is there a Spanish page for this?
- Yes. The Imprimir link below opens the same PDF tool with Spanish instructions for printing one image across several sheets.
