Split an AI image sheet

ChatGPT, Gemini, and Midjourney often return one picture that holds several panels, with a gap between them. This page opens at 2×2. Set a gutter to drop the pixels along each cut, or drag the lines when the panels are uneven. Nothing is uploaded.

How to separate the panels

  1. Open the sheet

Drop the combined image here. A Midjourney four-up starts at two rows and two columns. Change the counts for a 3×3 or any other grid.

  2. Match the cuts to the panels

Drag a line onto the gap, or type the pixel where the panel ends. Zoom in when the gap is only a few pixels wide.

  3. Drop the gutter

The gutter is the number of pixels removed from each tile along every cut. A gutter of 8 removes 8 pixels from each side of a cut, so 16 pixels of gap disappear between neighbors.

Questions

Does this upload the sheet to split it?
No. Some splitters send the file to a server and delete it later. This one never sends it. The cut runs on the canvas in this browser.
What does the gutter remove?
It shrinks every tile inward along each cut. It does not crop the outer border of the whole sheet. Raise it until the empty band between panels is gone from the previews.
What if the panels are not equal?
Drag the lines. The gutter still applies to whatever cuts you set, so an uneven comic strip or a sticker sheet can drop its gaps too.
Which formats can I save?
PNG keeps the panel pixels. JPG and WebP are smaller. Transparency is kept in PNG and WebP, and flattened onto white for JPG.
